ProLab Photography Theme
It’s been a busy end of year and doesn’t look like stopping until Christmas. My workload has been hectic these past few weeks with everything from brochures, posters to websites and business cards. A project I’ve been steadily chipping away at for the past couple of months has finally made it to fruition and I’m pleased with the results. I’m still doing beta-testing to make sure I’ve ironed out all the glitches – especially on Windows machines, but all appears well on Mac browsers.
ProLab is a WordPress template for photographers, or visual artists. I based it on the Hybrid theme framework. It features Flash and Javascript image galleries (you get to choose which type you want) all created and edited via your WP dashboard.
The ease of use was important for non-techy types. Creating and editing galleries is as easy as creating a gallery, uploading your photo’s and copy pasting in a shortcode. You can tag your photo’s add captions, resize images and embed slideshows in the sidebars if you wish.
After researching other photography themes, I came to the conclusion that the photo’s should be the star, not the site graphics. I’ve kept things minimal and clean so the photography really stands out. I will be using this theme to re-design an existing clients site and hopefully other photographers will be interested in using it to show off their work and generate new business.
Is this template a child theme of hybrid, and is it available for download or purchase?

Yes, this is a child theme of Hybrid with a few custom plugin’s and tweaks from me.
I’m currently only offering custom installation and design as I don’t have the resources or time at the moment to offer technical support for a commercial theme. So, if you are a photographer interested in using this theme, I would provide the installation, custom design work to fit in with your brand, look and feel and walk you through all the admin options to get you up and running.
